What file formats are supported by the Media Player (Album, Music, and Video) apps?

Some of the picture, music, or video contents on my home network or USB device cannot be played.

    IMPORTANT: This article provides the file formats supported by the application version that was pre-installed on the TV.

    Additional information is available for the file formats supported by the Media Player application downloaded from the app store.

    The supported files and formats are available in the Help Guide for your TV or using the Help Guide online:

    • Check the Help Guide online.
    • Check the Help Guide on your TV:
      If your TV remote control has a Help button, press the Help button, then select Help Guide. If your TV remote control doesn't have a Help button, follow the steps below:
      • Use the HOME.
      • On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
      • The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select  Apps → Help → Help Guide.
          Note: Some models don't have the Apps icon.
        • Select Help → Help Guide.
    • Select Using the TV with Other Devices.
    • Select USB device.
    • Select Supported files and formats.
    • Click to select a type of media to view the supported formats.


    • LPCM audio format is for Home Network only.
    • 2K TV models don't support 4K video playback.
    • If the TV supports the file format but doesn't play, check if the music or video is broken. Use your computer to test the files.
    • You may be able to playback other formats not listed in Supported files and formats, but we don't guarantee proper operation.
    • W8, X7, and X74H_X75H series TVs don't support LPCM files (Music). For other models, LPCM files (Music) are only supported when using a home network.
