(Important) My Xperia Theft Protection service ending soon

    Dear Valued Sony Customer,

    The My Xperia Theft Protection service available on some Xperia phones and tablets will be shut down in the future. 

    As an alternative, we highly recommend using Google Find My Device, which offers the same features and more. For more information, please visit Google Account Help.


    Shutdown schedule

    • September 2023: No new My Xperia Theft Protection activations accepted.

    Details

    After September 2023, you will no longer be able to activate or reactivate My Xperia Theft Protection. If you try to activate My Xperia Theft Protection in the My Xperia app, you will see a spinning icon for a few seconds, and then the start page will reappear.

    Deactivate My Xperia Theft Protection (before September 2024)

    1. On your device, go to SettingsSecurityMy Xperia.
    2. Tap the DEACTIVATE button.
    3. Note the User Code displayed on your device.

    4. On a computer, use an Internet browser to go to https://www.google.com/device, and then enter the User Code from the previous step.
    5. On the computer, log in to the same Google account as on your device.
    6. On the device, press the Submit button.

    Definitions

    • Activate: Add My Xperia Theft Protection to a device.
    • Deactivate: Remove My Xperia Theft Protection from an unlocked device.
