Install

How to make sure the update goes smoothly

Updating is usually very simple. Here's how you can make sure it goes right first time:

  • Read the instructions carefully or you could end up causing the DVD recorder to become unresponsive or require a repair
  • Don't turn the DVD recorder off - or disconnect it from the power - while it's updating
  • Don't press any buttons, except the ones mentioned in the instructions
  • After updating, please set Auto Service Update to On in the "Channel" setup

Download the update to your computer:

  1. Read and agree to the terms and conditions
  2. Download the file 1.11-p3-spi.pac to your computer - remembering which directory you download it to
  3. Find the file on your computer, right-click on it and click Properties. Check the size is 8.31 MB (8,723,652 bytes)
  4. Write the files to a blank recordable CD. Using CD burning software? Select universal disc UDF format (UDF).Use of the ISO9660 format may result in an incorrect update disc

Transfer the update to your player

Once you've downloaded the update file, you can install it on your DVD recorder. Just follow the simple steps below

Get the equipment ready:
  1. Turn on your TV and check it's tuned to the input your Blu-ray player is connected to. (So if the player is connected to the AV 1 socket, choose AV 1 as the input.)
  2. Turn on the DVD recorder
  3. Put the disc in the player, and close the disc tray

Install the update

  1. After the disc loads, a message requesting to confirm the update procedure appears on the TV screen. and
  2. Select OK using the remote control, and then press ENTER
  3. The update starts
  4. During the update a progression scroll bar appears on the TV screen. Don't use or turn off the player until the update is complete
  5. When the disc tray opens.Take the update disc out of the player and turn on the player
    Important: If the tray doesn't open automatically and an update message appears again on the TV screen, select No using the remote, then remove the disc.
  6. Tunr off your DVD recorder. The update is complete now
Check the update was successful:
  1. Turn on your TV and check it's tuned to the input your DVD recorder is connected to, so if the player is connected to the AV1 socket, choose AV1 as the input
  2. Turn on your DVD recorder and press the SYSTEM MENU button on the remote
  3. Select InitialSetup > System1 and press Enter using the remote control
  4. Select Version and press Enter
    On the TV screen, the firmware version number should appear like this: SOFTWARE VERSION 1.11 - if the version number is 1.11 or higher you already have the most recent firmware
