    Thank you for your continued interest in Sony products.

    Sony is always concerned about quality and customer satisfaction and therefore is offering a firmware update (ver. 1.10) for FM/AM Clock Radio ICF-CL75iP.

    Please refer to the "Download and Installation" section of this document on how to download and install the firmware update.

    How to confirm the model and the firmware version

    To check the firmware version of your unit, follow the below instructions:

    1. Turn on the unit and press the [HOME] button on the displayed screen.

    2. Select [General Settings] and press the [ENTER] button.
    3. Select [Unit information] and press the [ENTER] button.
    4. Check [S/W Version] on the displayed screen.

      If 1.00, 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 1.04, 1.05, 1.06 or 1.07 is listed, proceed with the firmware update.

    Applicable Models

    • ICF-CL75IP with firmware ver.1.00, ver.1.01, ver.1.02, Ver.1.03, Ver.1.04, Ver.1.05, 1.06 or Ver.1.07

    Improvements

    Fixed symptoms

    Customers may experience the following symptoms. The symptoms will be fixed by this firmware update.

    • System may freeze periodically (approximately 25days). This system freeze causes some incorrect display (Clock stall, Black out) and key operation may not be accepted.

    System Requirements

    • Computer: equipped with a SD™ memory card slot
    • Storage media: 64 MB or greater SD™ memory card

    Note: USB memory / MEMORY STICK™ / MultiMedia Card™ cannot be used to perform the firmware update.

    Install

    Note:

    A “User Account Control” dialogue might be displayed in case you are using Windows® 7 / Windows Vista®, or a “Security Warning” dialogue in case you are using Windows® XP . In such cases, please continue the installation when you consent to the message.

    Downloading the file

    1. Make sure that you are logged on as a computer administrator.
    2. After reading the disclaimer, click the [Download] button below.
    3. Save the "ICF_CL75IP_V110_EU.zip " file (34,898KB) to the desktop of your computer (recommended).

    Extracting the file you have downloaded

    If you are using a Windows Vista® / Windows® 7 computer:
    1. Right-click the “ICF_CL75IP_V110_EU.zip” file you saved on your computer desktop.
    2. Click [Extract All].
    3. Click [Extract] when the window “Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders” is displayed.
    4. The folder “ICF_CL75IP_V110_EU” is open on your computer desktop and is displayed.
    If you are using a Windows® XP computer:
    1. Right-click the “ICF_CL75IP_V110_EU.zip” file you saved on your computer desktop.
    2. Click [Extract All].
    3. Click [Next] when “Extraction Wizard” is displayed.
    4. Click [Next].
    5. Click [Finish].
    6. The folder “ICF_CL75IP_V110_EU” is open on your computer desktop and is displayed.
    If you are using a Mac OS X computer:
    1. Double-click the “ICF_CL75IP_V110_EU.zip” file you saved on your computer desktop.
    2. The folder “ICF_CL75IP_V110_EU” is created on your computer desktop.


    There are 20 files in the extracted folder "ICF_CL75IP_V110_EU”.

    Prepare a SD™ MEMORY CARD.

    Prepare a SD™ MEMORY CARD which you have just initialized (formatted).

    Note: USB memory / MEMORY STICK™ / MultiMedia Card™ cannot be used to perform the firmware update.

    Copy the extracted files to a SD™ MEMORY CARD.

    1. Insert the initialized (formatted) SD™ MEMORY CARD into the SD™ memory card slot on your computer.
    2. Open the folder “ICF_CL75IP_V110_EU” on your desktop, and copy all of 20 files into the SD™ MEMORY CARD.

    Update the firmware

    1. Disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead) from the wall outlet, and insert the SD™ MEMORY CARD firmly into the slot.

    2. Plug the AC power cord (mains lead) into a wall outlet.
      The confirmation screen appears. Please check that the S/W Version mentioned on the screen is 1.10.

    3. Select [Yes] with Preset + / - and press the [ENTER] button.
      The firmware update starts and the following screen appears.

    4. The following confirmation screen appears after about 1 minute.

    5. Remove the SD™ MEMORY CARD from the slot and press the [ENTER] button.
      The unit will restart.
    6. When the normal screen launches, press the [HOME] button.

    7. Select [General Settings] and press the [ENTER] button.
    8. Select [Unit information] and press the [ENTER] button.
      The following information is displayed.
      Check that [S/W Version] is [1.10]
