Install

DOS drivers for the PCGA-CD51 or PCGA-CD51A external CD-ROM drive

1.Download instructions:

  1. Create a new folder to place the file downloaded from the web - Name itDownloadfolder.
  2. Download theBoot Disk to use for PCGA-CD5x modelsfile from theDownloadsection of your VAIO model.
  3. When the download is completed - ClickStart, point toProgramsand clickWindows Explorer
  4. ClickViewand selectDetailsto check the size of the downloaded file (cdrom_bootdisk.exe)- If the size is the same, your downloading is successfully completed.
  5. If the size is different, delete the file you have downloaded and proceed with the download again.
  6. Double-click the file to open it.
  7. Restart your VAIO in MS-DOS mode.
  8. Create a startup floppy disk by typingformat a:/s(please note that any data on this floppy will be deleted).
  9. Copy the extracted files to the startup floppy disk you just created.
  10. Re-boot your VAIO with the CD-ROM drive connected to it. The CD-ROM drive will be listed as driveZ:
  11. There are additional options that can be added to theConfig.sysfile, depending on what you need:
