Picture setting or mode does not change automatically on BBC iPlayer app

You may notice that your current picture settings do not automatically adjust to content when you launch BBC iPlayer through an external device e.g. PlayStation, Blu-ray player or other HDMI connected devices. In short, if your picture settings are set to Game Mode and you launch BBC iPlayer, your picture settings remain on Game Mode. This issue only occurs on the BBC iPlayer app.

This is not a problem with your TV and is expected because the BBC iPlayer app is an HbbTV app which launches through a browser out of the Android framework. In this case, you will need to select your picture settings manually.  

Note! This issue is not applicable to TVs produced in 2020 and onwards as the BBC iPlayer app has updated its settings.
