Thank you for your continued interest in Sony products.
We have identified an issue for certain products where the GPS positioning date is being incorrectly displayed. This is caused by the "GPS Week Number Rollover" phenomenon: the date week number sent by the GPS satellite resets to 0, every 1024 weeks. As this phenomenon occurred on April 7th, 2019 (Japan time), it caused the GPS date information not to be recognised, and it unintentionally altered the date. Furthermore, the Auto Time Correct function is disrupted.
All Handycam® digital video cameras, digital recording binoculars, α™ (Alpha™) interchangeable lens digital single-lens cameras and Cyber-shot® digital still cameras released between 2010 and 2013 are affected. You can check the affected models in the [Applicable Products and Categories of This Article] section.
To avoid this issue, set the Auto Time Correct function to OFF and set the time again before using the product. Rest assured that there are no problems with GPS positioning results or automatic area correction features.
