Installing the Reader Library software

Connect your reader to the USB interface of your PC using the supplied USB cable. The message "Connected by USB" appears on the display of your eBook reader. The PC detects the unit automatically and starts the automatic playback:

To do this, click on "Open folder" and then go to "SETTING"

Double click on the "Setup Reader Library for Windows.exe" file to start the installation.

Note: Depending on the version of Windows installed on your computer, on the first occasion the Reader is connected to your computer (prior to software installation); two windows may appear. One window is entitled ‘READER’ and the other ‘SETTING’. For the window entitled ‘READER’ you may click on ‘Cancel’ at this time if you wish. For the window entitled ‘SETTING’ click on ‘OK’ in order to open the folder to view files. This will reveal an icon to ‘Setup Reader Library for Windows’.

If the "automatic playback" does not start as described above, you can also start the installation manually using Windows Explorer:

Have the reader displayed by opening "Computer" (Windows 7 / Windows Vista) or "Workplace" (Windows XP). The external removable data carrier of your reader will be detected here, and the name "Installer for Reader" will be displayed.

Open the "Installer for Reader" data carrier. Open the Windows folder and execute the "Setup Reader Library for Windows.exe" file by double-clicking on it.

After starting the installation, follow the instructions on the screen.

The Reader Library software starts up automatically after the installation, and is ready for operation.

It is possible that a Windows User Account Control window may appear with the alert message: “A program needs your permission to continue”. In this case click on ‘Continue’ to start the Setup Launcher and start the download of installation files from the Internet. Please be aware that this alert may only show as a flashing tab at the bottom of your computer screen – to access the ‘Continue’ button, click on the flashing tab.

Attention: If you are using the PRS-505 reader, you should also update the Reader Library software to the latest version. To do this, please select the "?'" symbol in the menu bar of the Reader Library and then select "Search for update". Then follow the instructions on the screen.
