Our environmental thinking

Environmental thinking touches every part of our business – from the materials, to the production processes, to development and recycling. Renewable energy sources are used in both our production facilities and offices across the world. We also consider how we build and maintain our factories and what we use for packaging. Eco. Inside and out

The chic, new VAIO W Series eco edition isn’t just slim, light and easy to use – it’s designed to minimise its environmental impact, too. On the outside, nearly 80% of all plastic parts – including top cover, palm rest and bottom cover - are made from recycled plastic. It also has a stylish white finish with mint green palm rest and exclusive touch pad pattern that express its eco-conscious personality.

On the inside, your mini notebook is energy efficient with a low voltage Intel® processor and 10.1” VAIO display with LED backlight that contains no environmentally-harmful mercury and contributes to its Energy Star® 5.0 certification.

Carry case instead of a carton box

The VAIO W Series eco edition is supplied in an environmentally friendly and stylish PC carry bag. The bag’s outer fabric is manufactured using 100% recycled polyester (PET). Omitting a cardboard box reduces the use of packaging materials and allows 20% more notebooks to be shipped per palette for improved transport efficiency.

Less Paper, more Eco

A Quick Start Guide and electronic user manual replace the standard paper manual, cutting paper consumption by approximately 35%.
