When it comes to camera sensors, bigger really is better. The NEX-3N has a large, DSLR-quality APS-C sensor which captures more light than most other interchangeable lens cameras, so more detail reaches the sensor. The result is beautifully lit shots up to 16.1 megapixels.
Get a new angle on the world
Taking portraits of yourself and your friends is simple. Flip the tiltable screen around 180° and frame the shot to perfection. Or shoot from awkward or interesting angles – it makes it easier to photograph objects up high (like tall buildings) without twisting your neck.

At just 210g, the NEX-3N body is slim and light, and ready to go where you go, but it also has the capabilities of DSLR cameras twice its size. What’s more, the kit comes with a compact, lightweight power zoom lens so you can be creative anywhere, any time.

Low light isn’t a problem with the NEX-3N – it’s an opportunity to capture beautiful images. The large 16.1 megapixel APS-C sensor has a wide sensitivity range – from ISO 200 up to 16000 – so you can capture warm natural light in low-light scenes without a flash.
Master the art of composition
While some photographers have a natural eye for a shot, most of us could use a little help. Auto Object Framing automatically proposes a pro-style crop of your original picture. Whether you use the suggested version or your original is entirely up to you.
Shoot cinematic Full HD movies
Film Full HD at dusk or indoors with a large APS-C sensor which adjusts settings automatically for low-light conditions. Quickly zoom in and out without losing focus. With a choice of manual or autofocus, and cinematic 25p shooting, you can call the shots for movie-making.
