Power consumption is reduced thanks to the Auto Power Off feature, which makes sure that the player is turned off after 30 minutes of inactivity.

In addition no halogenated flame retardants are used in certain printed wiring boards.

Process

Unit size of new BDP-S560 has been reduced by 2% and the packing size by 12%. Smaller packages allow Sony to reduce C02 emissions caused by transportation.
All paper packing and instruction manual has been printed on 70% recycled paper with Volatile Organic Compound-free vegetable oil based ink
