The world’s greatest classical music performances - on-demand

The Berliner Philharmoniker are one of the world’s most respected orchestras, performing more than 100 concerts every year. Since January 2009, the orchestra’s concerts have been available through the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Digital Concert Hall, an electronic archive of the Philharmoniker’s performances.

Now you can enjoy hours of full-length classical music performances, on-demand and with the stunning sound and picture quality of BRAVIA, as the Digital Concert Hall comes to BRAVIA Internet Video.

The Digital Concert Hall contains every full length performance of the acclaimed Philharmoniker – conducted by Sir Simon Rattle – since the 2008-2009 concert season, plus guest appearances from some of the biggest stars of the classical music scene.

In 1978 the Berliner Philharmoniker were the subject of one of the world’s first digital recordings of a musical performance - carried out, of course, by Sony. It’s said that the standard recording length of Compact Discs was set at 74 minutes to ensure that the Philharmoniker’s performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony would fit on one disc in its entirety.
