People are the photographer’s favourite subject, but they are also quite tricky to capture well. Facial expressions can be unpredictable and subjects often become shy when they realise they are being photographed. Cyber-shot cameras have easy-to-use features that help you get better people shots. Here are a few simple ideas to ensure you take photos that make your subjects look their very best.

Remember

  • Don’t just take one shot. People are more likely to be relaxed after the third of fourth shot.
  • After a few shots, show people what you’ve got: they will trust you more and may even give you advice.
  • You’ll get more spontaneous, relaxed shots of children if you get them to take pictures too – including some of you.
  • Place the camera on a table or tripod and release the shutter with the remote control to help cure the shyest of sitters.
  • Activate Smile Shutter and let Cyber-shot automatically take photos when people smile. It’s lots of fun, and great for capturing natural smiles.
