Multi AFMulti AF examines the whole scene and looks for the elements that you are most likely to want to be sharp. This setting is good for general-purpose photography and for when the main subject is off-centre.
Center AFCenter AF automatically focuses on the subject in the centre of the frame. This setting is useful when you use the AF Lock function (see below) and want to re-compose the picture.
Spot AFSpot AF is similar to Center AF, but focuses on a very small point in the centre of the scene. It is useful for focusing on specific elements, such as the eyes of a subject.
