Balanced Optical SteadyShot

Available in our prestige range of camcorders, new Balanced Optical SteadyShot sets the standard for image stabilisation. With this innovative system, the entire lens unit essentially “floats” within the camcorder casing. So as the camcorder moves around, the lens unit maintains a level position. As a result, Balanced Optical SteadyShot compensates for up to 13x more camera shake than conventional Optical SteadyShot. And crucially, it’s effective across the entire zoom range – from wide to telephoto.

Optical SteadyShot Active Mode

Whether you’re strolling around sightseeing or playing in the garden with the kids, Optical SteadyShot Active Mode ensures crisp, clearly defined images. Available on a number of Handycam® camcorders, this intelligent system compensates for a wide range of movements – not just up-down and right-left but also circular wrist movements or ‘hand roll’. It’s particularly effective for wide shots, where image stability is improved up to 10x compared to conventional Optical SteadyShot.
