Many VAIO notebooks feature a Blu-ray disc player or recorder. Blu-ray is the standard for high-definition entertainment.

The same size as a normal DVD, Blu-ray brings you razor sharp high definition video with enhanced cinema-quality sound as well as a host of additional features.

And for storing those never-to-be-lost videos and images, the Blu-ray disc is ideal. With 10 times the capacity, and encased in a scratch-resistant, anti-static coating, your data is secure and protected.

Put your VAIO at the heart of your home High Definition entertainment system.

Many VAIO models have HDMI output (High Definition Multimedia Interface) which allows you to take the digital entertainment from your VAIO to your TV with up to Full 1080 HD resolution.

Connect your VAIO to your HD Ready or Full HD TV. It is the ideal to share your digital memories, or to use video on demand (VoD) via internet websites.

Dolby® Sound

Some VAIO notebooks are equipped with Dolby® Sound Room® technology bringing you stunning personal surround sound from any pair of speakers or headphones.

Dolby® Sound Room® widens the sound experience to “wrap” around the listener, letting you enjoy films, music, and games with an enveloping listening experience.

DLNA

Available on most VAIO models, DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is an international standard that allows home digital devices to talk to each other, sharing files and integrating seamlessly.

Your VAIO notebook can be the central controller, linking up your HiFi systems, TVs, home entertainment and PlayStation 3. Combining a VAIO notebook and a PlayStation 3 connected to a TV, DLNA allows you to enjoy all the pictures, music and videos which are stored on your VAIO on your HD TV.

Your VAIO allows you to stay in touch with friends, colleagues and family through the built-in Motion Eye camera.
