Face Detection keeps faces looking natural

This super-smart technology tells when someone’s smiling, firing the shutter at exactly the right moment, you press the shutter down once to focus and then the technology will take the shot only when the subject smiles.

And for even better looking results, Face Detection automatically adjusts focus and exposure settings for clear, natural looking portraits with lifelike skin tones.

But what if there are several people in the picture, like the bride surrounded by her bridesmaids at a wedding?

Smile Shutter lets you pick the main subject in a group of people. Just tap on the screen to select the main person and the shutter only fires when they smile.

You can even capture a sequence of up to six smiling shots without needing to keep pressing the shutter. It’s great for grabbing a series of relaxed, informal portraits.
