Learning & Development

We are passionate about developing our employees – that’s why great people join and stay with us.

Here is a little more detail about our approach.

The Every Day Stuff

Of course we all know that the best learning takes place on the job every day. So in a business that’s growing and evolving, there are always opportunities to learn and develop. We want people who come and join us to have a huge appetite for taking chances, being innovative, raising the bar and pushing themselves to try things they have never thought to do before.

Induction

We put a lot of effort into giving our new employees a comprehensive induction when they join us. We make sure that new recruits are given a complete picture of how the business works, and how their role contributes to our business - most importantly we ensure they have the support required to deliver their objectives.

The Skills Pledge

In 2008 we signed the Skills Pledge. This is a public commitment by our Leadership Team to support all employees to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours including working towards relevant, valuable qualifications. To support this pledge we launched a brand new and extensive Learning Catalogue, which is available to all and is a source of information about all in-house training workshops that have been designed to develop core skills and behaviours.

Feedback

Great feedback is such a simple and effective way for people to develop. Everyone can expect regular one to ones with their manager to discuss progress against objectives, share feedback and get some help if it’s needed. It's also an opportunity to discuss both career and personal development areas in detail.
