How do I get the best from my speaker set-up?Careful speaker positioning will help give the best possible sound experience. Give your front speakers some space and face them towards the main chair at an equal distance. The centre speaker, which produces most of the dialogue from movies, should be directly above or below the TV screen. The rear speakers should be slightly behind you or at least level with your chair. Speakers sound best on a firm base. Use speaker stands or wall mounts to enhance the sound experience and don’t put small speakers too high up in a room with a high ceiling. A subwoofer can go pretty much anywhere. I am planning to re-decorate, what can I do to get the most from my BRAVIA Theatre system?Plan for your entertainment needs if you’re re-decorating by thinking about where the speakers will go. You can build plastic conduit tubing into the plaster so that cables can be hidden completely out of sight. Remember to be careful when drilling into walls and ensure all mains electrical work is done by a qualified person.

I’m worried the subwoofer will disturb my neighbours, what can I do?If you like it loud, but don’t want to upset the neighbours, move the subwoofer away from your walls. Some of our home cinemas come with a Night Mode which automatically adjusts the sound. It increases the dialogue volume but keeps heavy bass tones low. You can also manually change the audio levels to help optimise the sound even more. Better still – just invite them all over to watch the film with you!
