Having a Blu-ray Disc™ player and fully loaded Sony home entertainment system is great. But what you don’t need is a handful of remote controls and power leads to go with it. Thankfully, you can connect your Sony Blu-ray Disc player to your BRAVIA TV and BRAVIA Home Theatre system with total ease. Then all it takes is one touch, one cable and you’re connected and able to relax and enjoy breathtaking HD picture and sound quality.

HDMI connectivity

High Definition connectivity starts with HDMI™. HDMI™, or High Definition Multimedia Interface, replaces the classic analogue SCART connection. The main difference: SCART doesn't work with HD. HDMI does. Just one high-capacity HDMI™ cable can easily hook up virtually any High Definition device, like your Blu-ray Disc player to your BRAVIA TV, with impeccable transfer of high-quality digital picture and sound. Some BRAVIA TVs and home theatre projectors are even equipped with a new type of HDMI™ with CEC. This allows the separate components of your home cinema system to communicate with each other, making them compatible with BRAVIA Theatre Sync and BRAVIA Sync.

BRAVIA Sync

BRAVIA Sync works by using HDMI connections and a "One Touch" set up that's unique to Sony. Making use of the HDMI™ with CEC capability, signals can be sent between the various units that make up the system, all by using the TV remote control. So when you want to get started, a single push of a button automatically takes care of everything. The audio equipment is switched on, the TV switched on, the correct inputs are selected and the Blu-ray Disc player starts to play. BRAVIA Sync not only gives you 'one-touch' control over your home theatre, it also brings the menu of a handheld device, such as a Handycam® camcorder, directly to your TV screen. All you have to do is press the new 'Sync Menu' button on your remote.

BD-Live

BD-Live is a newly developed Blu-ray feature that enables you to access content via your internet-connected Blu-ray player. BD-Live can allow you to download a variety of up-to-date content (e.g., refreshed previews and exclusive special features), and can also enable an exciting state of the next generation possibilities, such as ringtone/wallpaper downloads, peer to peer interactions, live events and gaming activities.
