Headphones personalised to your ears

Just like fingerprints, everyone has uniquely sized and shaped ears. Only by creating a huge library of ear moulds can we get the fit and performance exactly right in every pair of in-ear headphones.

Inspiration

Driven by the desire to create the perfect in-ear headphones, our sound engineers started a collection of rubber moulds taken from thousands of people's ears all over the world.

Over 17,000 samples are kept stacked in clear shoeboxes in the lab. They use them to test out both the shape and contours of our headphone speaker housing – and the quality of the sound.

Creation

Sony sound engineers place a microphone in one side and a speaker on the other, to test the quantity and quality of sound that comes through.

So regardless of your ear size, our in-ear headphone buds have been precisely engineered to retain the very best sound quality and comfort.

Demonstration

We’ve taken all the learning from our hero models and applied it to the entire EX headphones range, bringing a higher quality product in at a lower price.

Together with a choice of earbud sizes, no matter what your ear shape, you’ll always be able to hear superior Sony sound exactly the way it was intended.
