Hi,

I have a Sony TV and Sony Vaio laptop. I used to be able to watchfilms from my laptop hard drive on my TV via a HDMI cable. For some reason this no longer works and nothing is appearing on my TV at all. Many forums have suggested pressing "Fn F7". I have tried this but all it has done is made my laptop screen blank!! Therefore I can't see my laptop screen now and my TV also displays nothing. Whoops!!

I would appreciate some help on this as I notice many other users have had similar problems. Please help ... maybe a Chocolate Macaroon could be the prize for the person who can help me. Thanks in advance guys.

First things first, try that HDMI cable out with another product if you can. If there is no joy, it could be the port on the TV or the laptop which may have malfunctioned. If possibly, see if you can try another laptop, maybe ask a friend to see if they have one which they can bring around to test.

Usually it could be something small. I know in the past, an automatic driver update on my graphics card was the culprit.

Have you made any changes before this happened? Also try to open device manager and see if there are any corrupt drivers that needs to be reinstalled.

If all else fail, you can try system restore. This is totally different from OS reload. https://imagicon.info/cat/12-13/vmware_happy.gif
