Fn key not working after installing windows 7

hey guys,

i have a sony vaio vgn-c1z, i had recently updated it to windows 7 64 bit, now some of my fn keys have stop working e.g. brightness.

also my memory card reader does not seem to work any more.

please will you be able to help me out please

Hi b11pnd,

This is a fairly old model that was designed for and came pre-installed with XP and is not supported by Sony for Windows 7. However there are Vista utilities available that may work under Win 7 for the Fn key functions.

Download and install the following from this link (under Windows Vista) in the order given:

http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/VGN-C1Z_B/updates

Setting Utility Series
Sony Shared Library
VAIO Event Service
VAIO Control Center

There is no memory card driver available under the Vista upgrade tab. You could try the original XP version but I have no idea whether this will work.
