How do i work my webcam?

My new laptop is a VPCEH sony vaio and it has a buit in web cam but there is no icon to click on you use the webcam. Can i only use it on things like MSN and Skype? or is there somthing i can download so i can just take pictures?  Thank you

    Hi missbeevee10,

     

    Do you have Arcsoft Webcam companion listed under Start All Programs? If so you should be able to use this software to take photos and record videos.
