My new SVR-HDT1000 loses all locally tuned channels over night.

I do a full scan, selecting the region of England that corresponds to our local TV mast, and immediately after the tune there is a strong signal of good quality.

By the next day all local signals have been lost and it has tuned in instead to very weak signals from over 150 miles away. These signals are so weak that the recorder in its current form is totally useless.

I have updated the Firmware.

Any ideas?

C.

I have the same problem, HD channels disappear usually overnight. Just back from a week away, nothing recorded.

I think I will take this machine back to John Lewis, this is around the 5th time this has happened in the last couple of months, We receive a real good signal from Crystal Palace.

I have exactly the same problem on my HDT500. I updated the Firmware & have constantly reset to Factory setting then another full rescan which selects the correct channels. A few hours later some of the channels have changed back to the weaker channels which are out of my area! I also am finding it difficult to get an answer on the Topics page. If anyone has solved this problem it would be good to hear how!

Ok I have contacted the Sony helpdesk, concerning the matter. They say I need to contact an aerial engineer, to split better the signal. It seems the 2 signals in my case French and British are confusing their system. Squib751 I think it is the same for you. Obviously I am not going to get an engineer at my cost for that, I am contemplating a return to the retailer since it is not the right product for my area. Helpdesk had no comment when I mentioned this which you should be read as our product is not really adapted to all consummer and we not going to do anything about it.
