Click anywhere in Bravia browser window?

Really the only reason to use such a slow, clunky browser on the TV is to watch video. However, most sites (those which are nelightened enough not to use Flash any more) have video in a small window with a "full screen" button and some  have a "HD mode" button. In general I can't see how you could press these buttons, as the remote control only sems to jump between hotspots (presumably <A> markup in HTML) and don't recognise those elements with javascript onclick event handlers attached as clickable. How can I "click" in arbitrary places on the browser screen so I can use the full capabilities of the site (which the browser seems prefectly capable of rendering and acting on the clicks - it seems to be a recent version of Opera)?

Zooming in doesn't help as that just enlarges the pixels, doesn't use the video at its full resolution, and in any case other controls like pause, HD, sound on/off are apparently inaccessible.
