Internet TV + iPhone hotspot = ?

Howdy.

 

So. I've just moved and have yet to get an internet connection going in my place. I have Sony TVs with built in WiFi and was wondering if it was possible to use my iPhone hotspot as the connection for it to access BIV? In the network setup, along with everyone elses HomeHubs and whatever, it recognises my mobile. I put in the password and tries connecting to the network.

 

The wireless device on the TV is found, as is local access but not internet access (in the connection results). Am I being a div or can I make this work?

    Strange, not sure why it wouldn't work - but you would hammer your data bill by using 3G to stream content. Might be some kind of lock in place on the iPhone? Wonder if it would be the same on Android?

    I'm not nuts then, in theory it should work? Because my mobile is on a new contract, I get three months of not having to pay for my data usage so thought I'd take advantage of that.

     

    I guess it would be the same with Android? I'll have a fiddle and see if I can work it!
