Hi guys,

I bought these wifi headphones a good 6-8 years ago now and finally - sadly, for me anyway - the batteries are fading and I get about 45 minutes to 1 hour out of the rechargeable batteries that came with them now, at most.

My question is this: is it possible to replace these supplied Sony AAA 500 mAh Ni-MH rechargeable batteries with another brand of rechargeable battery of the same kind?  The batteries that came with the headphones have small black plastic fittings attached to them which, from what I can make out, are purely just to hold the batteries in place more securely.
