DVD problem

I am using Sony DVD-R successfully on my Samsung R730. But the DVD does not work on DVD players - "unsupported". I have also used DVD+R to no effect. What am I doing wrong?

    Has the disk been finalized? This tutorial explains the steps required to finalize a DVD prior to playback on an external device.
