I installed the Prey project on my VAIO in order to be able to trace it in case of theft. But Prey is not able to verify my device. I've run the check mode and it says everything is fine. My device is a one week old VPC F12 M1E running Windows 7, all Windows updates applied. Is it possible that some of the preinstalled stuff interfer with Prey, or is it a problem with the configuration of Windows or the network? Or do VAIO have some sort of built-in theft protection, which has similar functionality to Prey?
