VAIO Update

I have a SVL2412M1EB VAIO.

When I double-click VAIO Update I get the following message: -

"A new version of VAIO update is available. VAIO Update cannot be used unless it is updated. Update now?"

I click "Yes" but have way through the update states it has been interrupted and does not continue. I have tried it a few times but the download does not continue.

my internet connection is working properly.

What can I do to solve it?

Anyone can help?

I recently purchased a Sony Viao E Series and I've customised it and chose not to get the backlit keyboard, however now I realised that I do need the backlit keyboard and I can't see the keyboard properly at night and I don't usually have the lights on, and I would highly prefer it more.

Would it be possible to send it or give it in somewhere which can change the keyboard??

I don't mind paying extra than it was offered but would like to know ASAP if this could be changed!

I hope someone can help me. I am a student and need to edit movies using movie maker but MM now installed but wont load as my graphics card not correct? Using Windows 7 and have Nvidia GeForce 8400M GT...how do I get the updated driver? Or do I have to do something else?

Hi I have a sony vaio PCV-F11M. i am trying to understand how to make the desktop wifi enabled? should i buy a usb wifi adapter or should I fit a wireless card to my PC. Seeking advice as to which would be more suitable and which type to get? My desktop is now located upstairs in converted loft space away from router located in hall wall and no separate Ethernet point. Appreciate advice?

Weird Mouse Problem

Hi All,

I am using a Vaio all in one with a wireless optical mouse but when I am not using the mouse it tries to automatically left click on its own and tiny dot appears on the screen as it tries to do it. This is very annoying as when I leave the computer as night on the log in screen it always tries to log in to one of the user names on the screen on its own. Any suggestions.

When attempting to downoad Vaio Updates I receive a message telling me that I must first install an updated version of the Updater. I am current using version 6.1.1.10250. However the installation of an updated version never succeeds so I seem to be an endless loop. Advice and suggestions please

Can anyone help with this problem. My VPCL13S1E will not open the disc tray unless I stick a pin in the tray hole to release it.Even then when I put any type of disc in - it does not spin the disc or recognise it.The all in one is only 2 and a half years old and is not heavily used.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Pat

Two things, my hard disk has failed and I need to replace it. I am considering a Samsung 840 SSD. Has anyone done this? If so any problems?

Can someone tell me how to access the drive bay?

Secondly, I have an Intel 8400 CPU, Core 2 3.0Ghz. Has anyone upgraded to a Quad core version? Is it possible.

Watch and Record TV

OK, I have given up trying to get the TV program working on my older Sony Vaio desk top (running XP) It was easy before digital, I could just plug the aerial in and there it was.

I have a newer Sony Vaio all in one desktop VPCJ1 running windows 7 64bit. No TV card only usb ports. Does anyone know if it is possible and if so how how I could watch and record TV on this computer. What extras would I need and which software. Any suggestions accepted.

wireless keyboard not working

I have a VPCL11S1E using win8. Earlier this week the keyboard stopped workig. I have tried the reset, re-booting, checking for drivers, instaling updates when found etc. Still no keyboard. The light under the wireless symbol on the keyboard blinks slowly,unless the reset button is pressed when it flashes rapidly. How do I get my keyboard back?

Sony VAIO XL302 BIOS Post "beebs"

Hi,

after years of faithful service my Sony VAIO XL302 wont power up after we had a mains power supply failure the other night.

On powering the XL302 on all I get is an endless series of long "beebs" from the motherboard.

I've tried resettimg CMOS using the jumper and i have replaced the backup battery - with no improvement

Can anyone let me know what the XL302 POST and beep codes mean?

Erratic text when typing

I wouldn't describe myself as a particularly fast typist, but when writing an email I find that the cursor keeps jumping around, so that the text appears in the wrong places. It's very annoying, as I have to keep going over everything several times. The error only seems to occur when writing emails. The text works perfectly, for example, whilst I am typing this. Does anyone know the cure?

I have followed the tips on not allowing the computer to turnoff the WiFi adaptor, power settings, BUT the connection to my router just randomly drops! as I have other computers connected that don't drop connection I know it MUST be something on the new laptop / windows 8!

This is very annoying especially whenI'm inthe middle of a Skype call to a business meeting!

Does anyone have the real solution to this please?

High everyone. I have a vaio desktop VGC-V2S running XP. I know it is a bit old but recently I had to do a complete recovery and everything went fine until I tried to setup the TV, which had been working fine before. When I run the Vaio zone setup it asks to make sure the TV aerial is connected. I was running a freeview box through it so connected everything up but it runs and says "No channels were found" Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I see no one has the answer. How is it possible that the TV and being able to record will not open. I tested the freeview box on a TV and it required the scart to be connected before it would load the stations. Unfortunately my computer doesn't have a scart connection. I have a smart TV that I can record on to a flash stick only problem is it is formated FAT and when I connect to my computer to convert the video it will not open, keeps saying it needs to be formated. any ideas?

Ive also been in pc world and they have told me that they dont make batterys for my laptop anymore but i disagree with this because my laptop is only 1 year old. I have a Vaio VPCL13S1E all in one pc

my fans at times make alot of noise even when not under load.

I have ran real temp and speed fan and the CPU and GPU temps are ok even under load but i am geting temps of 62 for MCH and 76 for ICH.

i have stripped down the pc and cleaned all the dust out and renewed the thermal paste on all the heatsinks.

Would anyone have any ideas on what can be causing these high tems and how to fix it?
