All my backup dvds are single layer but understand the backed up movie may cross the layers from the original disc, but every movie I backup? seems odd to me.

Some of the jumps are quite harsh and when I explained to the wife that dvd cases used to have a warning written on them about the skip between layers was normal, this current problem is more than a skip and becoming more of a short pause.
