recommendations for docking station apps?

Hi all,

Just wondering if has used any or knows of any apps that work with the docking station?

Would love to get a few different options other than off, gallery or clock!

many radio as my alarm in the morning??

I just noticed this today! I'm pretty annoyed because I bought mine on the day of launch because I was assured this was going to be an amazing piece of tech.

After contacting my local store I had a number of promises made that have not been upheld.

Calendar widget shows wrong date

The widget is always a day behind but the calendar it links into is correct... any ideas?

I use Astro file manager to assist with external storage. The tablet reads FAT32 not ntfs so that might also be why you cant see it. Check your settings, you may have turned of the notification for connection to external storage.

In the past me and handbrake havent really gotr along but I will give it another go. I have been using DVDfab.

Of the links y/ou offered only the sony one worked unfortunately. I was hoping it would be both mp4s but I was also trying with my ripped mp4s and nothing so your worldly guidance okn the right codecs would be sooo much appreciated.

I just a deal that Currys (UK retailer) had on... first 100 people to buy a Sony tablet got a Bravia 32" tv for free!

Maybe they knew these issues where potentially going to happen

Thank you so much for putting these up. I have not had chance to grab these from a laptop yet and thought there might be a way to save from the tablet directly. Not quite at that stage yet.

I tried throwing an mp4 I was watching but I got the same error - "The player may not be registered with the media server. Check settings on the media server and try again"

I will look to find alternative apps which izs a shame because I really do like the Sony designed apps when they work and for the girlie reason that they all match so it makes the apps look tidy!

Thanks for these great suggestions of alternative apps. Where is the functionality in the MXvideo player that replicates the throwing option?

Love that they play straight from my SD card.... saves that little bit of time instead of going to the file manager :-)

Great news... think I am doing something wrong though... downloaded an epub free ebook , opened the eReader app and nothing happened. Tried the sony provided ones... some worked.

Any advice? Is that the right file type?

I just bought one from waterstones, clicked download and I got a failed page but now have to contact that to get it back... any advice there?

That fills me with more optimism then. I was wondering how I managed to get the images to throw but now the video... checked the firewall settings and all seem to be ok...any advice there?

I'm at the point that I want a refund! No samsung TVs are Wi-fi direct

This has the makings of what should be a fabulous piece of kit but all I can do is go into my sony centre and stream to their TVs!

I'm just a bit sick of problems with this tablet, it has so much potential but asthis being my maiden Sony purchase I had no idea about the lack of documentation to support the device. I tried to send an email to the customer support and it asked for a log-in...apparently that isnt the same as the log-in for this area and not the same as the one-Sony log-in for video unlimited and other related apps.

Back to the problem in hand, the eReader! So after a long while I realised you need computer software as well as an app. Downloaded this but alas no sign-in option or any registration link! There is nothing in the actual app itself to guide you and I'm yet to see a sign-in button on there...asssuming once linked to a computer on the non-supplied usb cable I'll be good to go?

Anyone successfully set-up?

I am looking to get the tablet connected to my corporate wifi. I have a number of certificate options, usually I import the .p12 ones but there were not recognised when I did a file transfer.

Two questions: what file type do I need? and is there somewhere specific I need to save them in order for the tablet to recognise/find them?

Bus powered portable harddrive struggling to connect

Hello Community,

i'm pleased to have been helped out on this forum in that someone told me how I can play media from an external source using a file manager.

Now I'd like to throw the problem out there that... my 500Gb Seagate portable drive starts up when connected and a usb notification pops up! great stuff... but it soon struggles (3secs) and splutters leaving the tablet unable to maintain a connection.

Has anyone else connected something other than a usb stick to it? Is the problem because its bus powered and microusb cant handle it?

I know I need to find something else to test as it might be the ebay microUSB to female USB transformer i've recently acquired.

My Sont Tablet S manages to find my 7 series "allshare" enabled TV but gives an error stating it is not connected to a media server.

I use windows media player to stream from a laptop with no issue and without it being connected to a server.

The only reason I bought this tablet over the iPad was for this built in feature - really disappointed if I cannot get it to work!
