Further explanation for the problem , i would like to mentioned i saw many posts here have disscusions about Belkin router problems

I believe TV has no problem at all , what you see / not seen on the TV screen based on the sender which is Belkin player

The router has DLNA streamer software which is embedded as a part of firmware ( not sure because i don't have one). I am not sure also if your model can accept install additional DLNA streamer such as Serviio or not.

Belkin website may have more details

I suggest you to reset your player router and updated it with the most recent firmware.

Hi,

it is clear now that your BD is fine 100% (i believe) because:

1- the screen setting mentioned above are the out of box setting

2- the BD play fine with PS3 and i think it will be fine too with any Sony TV

3- You already tried 2 BD models and both have the same

Now by little search on google i found a useful post from another customer have exactly the same problem with Samsung TV and he got positive email response from Samsung about how to rectify that issue by change the TV setting from SHOP mode to HOME mode

Please go through the steps in the shown link and kindly let me know the results

Kindly let us review step by step what set-up are there until we may catch the problem. speciall the settings mentioned in page 21 in the manual (link above) . Could you tell what are current setting for each item listed there?

In addition, there are some settings in the page 22 (top left quarter)

I believe the problem may be located within those settings

The problem is related to adjusting of scence mode (screen size) for both TV and BD . By doing the correct setting i believe you will get perfect picture

Please check page number 21 in BD manual under screen setting . This will do the job

Please do double check about the problem again, i mean the problem may be you got blank black screen when changing the channel (TV front LED light still ON)

In such a case you may delete all channels and retune again

Or you can try to do factory reset

If the problem still exsists , you may call Sony authorized service center

Powerline adapter connection affecting media view ?

I guess the problem not related to powerline adapter. because you can still playing videos

You may try to reset your TV to factory default (under the menu). Sometimes this help . All channels, picture , and sound setting will back to out of the box

Well , i would like to share you the results

Test done on my KDL-32CX520

Standby mode - switching off using the remote

The intial ampere was 70mA . After five minutes it drops to 29.1 mA

Plan calculation based on DC power suppy (not actual AC) it will be 15.4W then 6.4W

Standby mode - switching off using the side panel switch

Same results as the above (28.7 mA after five minutes)

From the above it is clear that both Standby modes are same. The only difference was the front LED light ( same as traveltiger stated)

i am curious to know the reason behide switching off the LED light.

Waiting for any additional input from Thalamus with thanks.

Thank you TravelTiger for your feedback , I think there is more than switching off the front LED light . Such as some additional PCB units disengaged. Because you make me more curious to know the details , i have Ampere meter , i will go to measure and let you know the results

Hello TravelTiger,

That is true, in both standby modes the TV will response for remote control

The difference will be in timer mode , when using the side panel power switch, the timer will not power ON the TV , i didnot have time to try that , you may try and tell us.

Just a note : Some other models of Sony TV has panel power switch with two positions OFF / ON , in those models the power totally disconnected at position OFF same as removing the plug. remote will not response

Do you have fluorescent switched ON in your room ? fluorescent lamps emit IR waves while 3D transimetter working by IR , distance and enviroments may affected the problem

I am looking for more detailed specs of my Sony KDL-32CX520. because it is not mentioned under the product page

1- What type of panel used? is it S-PVA or another.

2- The panel (pixel) response time in (ms) (note: 2006 MY were 8ms as example)

3- Dynamic Contrast ratio or Image Contrast ratio.

Hello Don,

Currently all channels have EPG which are a Data tag signal which is a part of the whole signal.

When i bought the TV few months ago and during that time of digital switchover, i faced the similar problem with one channel (i forget the broadcaster name). I noticed it was the only channel without EPG data, I ignored the problem and later i updated the firmware frequently.

Suppose when you tried to stop the recording with Merlin the Data tag signal was interuppted for few minutes then you got the problem.

I understood that you faced the problem one time only with a specific program , meanwhile it is fine with all others

As you know , Sony stated in the manual that unit should be plugged only to Sony devices , So i guess you had installed some files on it as a memory stick.

If I am in your place i may do the following:

Connect the dongle to PC and explore what files are there.

Backup all files to your harddisk

Carefully delete any file / Folder you doubt it is not belong to Sony , or copy its names here to for suggestion

connect the dongle back to Sony and check

Failed to get it work, take it to Sony service dealer and explain exactly what you have did, as per warranty policy it will be considered misuse but i guess they will do it for you free under goodwill policy, specially it is not a hardware failure . it is just firmware reloading

As my question scroll down to the 3rd page without getting the right answer , so i surf the net until I found the answer in other forum

AUTO-START UP

Starts the initial set-up to select the language, country/region and location, and tune

in all available digital and analogue channels. That mean the picture and sound setting kept the same

FACTORY RESETTING

Resets all settings to factory settings. After completing this process, the initial set-up

screen is displayed. That means everything are reset back to out of the box ( i guess the firmware is reloaded too so if some software faults was there it will be cured)

Help yourself is better than waiting, so my question has been answered.

I have a bit information about

The AVI is not a file, it is a container , that mean it can have many types of codec.

Sony firmware has built-in specific codecs (not all included) , if the AVI is transcoded by different langauge then it will not play.

I read in one Sony manual that the below AVI container is ONLY matching with the product

I have KDL-32CX520 and KDL-46CX520 which are 2011 model year.

I downloaded The owner manual for an older model KDL-32BX420 (2010 platform ) because it has huge valuable details which is missing explanation in my manual ( i think Sony saving paper and printing cost).

Could i request you to check the page number 23 of this manual which stated that this old model can read mkv container file !!!

The question is how an older model with lower class (BX) can read mkv, while the newer model with higher class (CX) missing this capability ??? Is that reasonable !

I would appreciate the help from anyone by giving logical explanation.

Hi,

I found the below words posted by another owner in other forum , so it may be help you

......I have a similar TV to yours and have suffered the same problem. Buyng an early iDTV it seems was not a good idea.

According to SONY that because the broadcasting authorities have changed the way the software upgrades are transmitted the older iDTV's do not recognise the signals being transmitted. Not only are the software updates unavailable it is also impossible to retune the TV itself (mine progresses to 40% and then locks up)! I have challenged Sony about this problem who say "It is no fault of ours" but to be fair they did offer to upgrade the operating software manually......
