Countries everywhere are moving from analogue to digital television. Find out what you need to do and how to re-tune your BRAVIA® so you can enjoy a huge new choice of digital channels.
What happens when analogue TV is turned off?
When the digital switchover happens, external aerials will no longer receive analogue signals. If you already have digital TV you will need to re-tune equipment to find the new line-up of channels. Satellite and cable services will be unaffected.
What will you need to do to receive digital TV?
If you have an analogue TV you will need to get an additional set-top box or new TV to receive digital channels. You might also want to consider upgrading your coaxial or scart cables, as poor quality cables can affect your digital signal.
All new BRAVIA TVs have digital access built-in so you can watch digital services using just one remote control and with no set-top box or clutter of cables.
If you already have digital TV you will need to re-tune all products which receive digital signals, including your BRAVIA TV, videos, set-top boxes and personal video recorders.
How to re-tune your BRAVIA TV
Re-tuning your TV to find digital channels is straightforward and should only take a few minutes using the digital set-up in your television’s settings menu.

Getting HD TV channels
If you want to receive any of the new High Definition digital channels on your existing TV without an integrated HD digital tuner, you will need to buy a new HD set top box or a new TV with the tuners built-in.
