At NAB 2007, Sony announced the new XDCAM EX Camcorder as the latest addition to the XDCAM family of products. The XDCAM EX Camcorder will allow a wide range of users to capture amazing HD pictures - in a small and easily portable device.
XDCAM EX will be the first Sony Professional Camcorder using Memory based recording. Up to 2 hours of HD content can be recorded to the two removable Express PC Cards. Express PC cards have quickly become the established standard for removable solid-state media – superceding PC Card technology. Many PC Vendors including Sony, Toshiba & Apple support Express PC slots. With an open media policy – Sony anticipate many sources of supply for the Express Card media.
